Rears rub when cornering

I have just put my new wheels on they are 18x8 fronts and 18.x9 rears. When going forward and noticeably on cornering there is a rubbing sound.
I'm not sure what it is at the moment but wondered if i shouldn't have put the spigot rings on the rears? The wheels fit with the spigots on so im not sure they are the issue. Any advice is greatly welcome.

By spigot rings are you meaning spacers or are the wheels wrong hubsize so need correct spigot ?
More crucially what offsets are the wheels ?

2x Michelin Pilot Sport 2 255/40R18 99Y XL

I have just put my old wheel back on and no rub. So it has one new wheel on the passenger rear and the old wheel on the driver rear. So its looking like a faulty wheel.

Is the one removed definitely Et44 ? & i know this is the obvious but are we talking non M Z ?

Where is it rubbing - on the inside or on the outside i.e. on the internal wheel arch or the external wheel arch and as Mr WILKS what Zed is this....?

As for a 'faulty' wheel....probably not just a wrong sizes etc for the vehicle. :(

so..i have swapped the offending wheel to the other side and drove the car = no rub.
Put the good new wheel on the offending side = rub.
So the issue is with the new wheel (either of them) on the drivers side rear. The passanger rear doesn't rub.
As said the original wheels don't rub..

Dont think its a spigot issue now, so thats one thing..

The rubbing is on the inside of the wheel.

Is the offset and the width of the alloy not incorrect for a z4m? I thought the standard wheels offset was a bit lower.

Might be rubbing on the inside.

ET 44 effectively means you have sent the back face of the alloy around 15mm towards the shocker hence the rubbing .
Fit 15mm spacers & problem solved

Can you recommend spacers and a website to but them from?

These came in today and have fixed the rub and added some width to the seating of the rears. Many thanks for the advice
