Rear Windscreen Fitting E89

Hi

Considering replacing the rear windscreen on my 2015 E89. Is this an easy job for a windscreen company? My concern is I'm worried about them messing up the whole roof system? Is it glued in like normal windscreens?

If it's an easy job then I will take it to a standard windscreen company. If it's hard then I might see if my BMW garage can fix it instead.

Thanks, Tony

My rear window has that grey staining bottom left corner. Looks like pulling back from the sealant/glue.
Also now have a sort of internal chip.
Not sure how that could happen.
The heated element was broke when bought 10 years ago.

Criky B21, that instruction set just made me puke a bit in my mouth before I regained my composure. :sick2:

If I said it was not an easy job without explanation he would have said I was a wimp… :tumbleweed:

How are you accessing newtis.info repair guides? When visiting their site, it says its been shut down, but it looks like you were on it yesterday from your screenshots?

Thanks for the response. But seriously, I still don't know if it's an easy or hard. My three options are:
- OEM equivalent windscreen £225 - garage I bought my car off will pay however the fitting company is totally unknown
- National Windscreens £550 fully proper BMW windscreen
- BMW main dealer - £1000 to £1250.

I'm concerned whether there is a potential to damage the roof operation.

thanks, Tony

Surprised you haven’t been able to assess that…but..

It’s pretty difficult (well it would be for me)..

I’d go with someone who offer a warranty on it..if National Windscreens is fixed price with a warranty I’d go with that..
