Guys,

Four wires are gone on my rear window de-mister, 3 at the top and the last one on the bottom. Any tips for repairing?

Thanks,

Sean

If it's the demist wires I dont think there is any way you can repair these, and it's a new roof and window!

Can't the window be replaced?

what if someone smashed your back window, you would need to replace the whole roof? :o

That's it, I'm clearing out the garage to make room for the Z

Need a complete new roof canvas and glass.

Cost I've seen as around £270 plus of course a lot to fit it.

Open the window sounds a lot cheaper

Have been looking in the interweb and looks like you can get some conductive silver paint that can bridge any breaks..... gotta find the breaks first though :-(

I'll be very surprised if you can make that stuff work on enbedded wires.

It should work i think...? These breaks are usually from those stupid dealer stickers being peeled off. Best way would be to just see if you can get a multi-meter on the track to check for continuity, that should help you find it :)

The wires are embedded in the glass ?
I thought they were on the inner surface...

Anyway, i've got also one wire (the second bottom one) which is not working.

TBH I've never looked to see if they are surface bonded on or embedded.

For sure if they are on the surface and you can find a break then it's just possible you could fix it.

Working over seats in the small void is going to be no easy task - especially as you can't kneel on the seats.

Don't have the fill leather seats!! First time I've been happy saying that :-(

Not the leather I'm referencing. If you kneel on the seat base you risk tearing the passenger seat occupancy pad and setting off the air bag fault light. You then have an expensive seat repair and the dealer light reset.
