Rear View Camera

Greetings All,

Perhaps this is covered elsewhere but I don't see a dedicated thread.

I am a new Z4 owner, and in fact new to roadsters. Part of the problem is that I am new to the car and don't yet have that innate understanding of the cars dimensions. However, I think the Z4 could use a rear view camera. Viability out the back is terrible and the view out the wing mirrors, with automatic dimming, especially in the dark sucks. I will probably tape over the sensor but I still think the car could use a camera.

Has anyone had one fitted that is working well? Extra points for one that uses the on-board screen.

Welcome.

I know what you mean re the auto dim in the dark. I have to reverse park into a very dim space a wall on the near side, a wall at the rear and my other halfs car about 2 foot on my offside. If the mirrors are dipped it's a nightmare but I'm quite confident re size and I know it's not much behind me size wise so can easily judge how far I have to go. Can't open the door to see as the car automatically goes into park!

Anyways there has been a thread or two on the subject and one of our Italian members has fitted a camera.

Thread is here http://www.z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=77430&p=1142339&hilit=Rear+view+camera#p1142339

I've asked the question
If system has a input then it should be straight forward
If it doesn't you can a unit that interrupts the screen feed but there expensive
