Hi, Rear tyres need replaced 255/35/18 :( Have michelin pilot super sports on my other car & there great. Unable to get them from Camskill as there out of stock & no delivery date. Have Falken 452`s on the zed just now & there ok,but looking at the vreds as lots of good reports on here. Anyone have any insight in to a good alternative to pss ?

Definite thumbs up from me for the Vreds..I have the Sessanta and have nothing negative to say about them..

Quiet, great grip wearing well etc..

I have Michelin PS3s on my 108s - great tyres, quite quiet, good grip wet and dry, lasted a good few miles too. I need new rears and am simply going to get the same again. Cheapest I found doing some pre-research was grippy.co.uk at £373 for the pair balanced & fitted. They're a mobile fitter, ended up finding them after seeing some recommendations on here somewhere.

Got vreds 2 weeks ago - needed them urgently and best price as a result was 150 each for the rears. I'd have been happy to pay the extra 30-40 per corner for more premium rubber but went off reviews for the vred as a punt. They look good, sound fine on the motorway and have hardly broken traction in all this crap weather. Camskill have them at bargain prices!!

The Vred,s are a hard act to beat IMO for all round performance V price .
Obviously if a blank cheque appeared then Michelin,s would be first choice but for 99% of users 99% of the time the Vred will do exactly what you want .

Another thumbs up for Vredesteins although I have the all seasons Quadrac 3s on the Z3 and can't fault them. Previously had Falken 452s and was never entirely happy with them on the car.

Tim.

Cheers folks, Camskill have Michelins back,so think I will just get them. Have looked at the vreds there's two kinds & great prices ! Decisions :D

Anyone any info on the vreds ? What ones are the best ?

The Ultrac Vortis are an all year round tyre and the Sessanta more of a summer tyre but both have great reviews and both are superb all year round IMO..

That said I would of thought the Sessantas may have a softer compound so should be quieter and more comfortable..??

Correct me if I.m wrong ... :?

Hope this helps..

Im sure there both summer tyres, Vortis there newer range which I think are better then the Sessanta.

:headbang: Michelins now out of stock :x looks like it will have to be some the vreds ! Which ones ?

I've got Vred ultrac vortis which seem to be the sessanta replacements, totally transformed the car from the RFTs that were on it. They are summer tyres but I will keep them on year round.

I got sessanta over ultrac vortis purely from a puffy point of view - I thought the tread looked interesting :D they do seem very grippy even in the wet we've been having.

You won't be disappointed I changed my RFT'S for Ultrac Vorti's 9 months ago and the difference is night and day.Like you I did a fair amount of investigation into which tyre to choose, and based on my findings I chose the Vred U/V It also helped that they were a reasonable price.
Something I came across in my investigation may be of interest to you :-

"For the new design, Vredestein's engineers sought to increase the amount of rubber in contact with the road during acceleration and cornering. And while most tires utilize a three-radii construction to address this concern, Vredestein went one better, incorporating a four-radii contour to create a multi-angled arch that gradually steps down from the centre of the tire tread to the sidewall. Each contour turns the tread towards the road surface, increasing contact and evenly distributing pressure under acceleration. It also helps prevent the sidewall deforming under extreme cornering load."

I also use vreds on my Picasso and my tyre fitter always comments on how impressed he is by the quality of manufacture and accuracy and cleanliness of the tread pattern. He sees a lot of tyres.

Cheers folks  fitted Michelin pilot sport 3 today, great price & have Michelins on my 335 & love them.

Rear tyres scrubbing in well :) only to find the front tyres are tracked really bad on the insides :x that's what you get, letting kwik fit doing your tracking 6 months ago ! not happy :headbang:
