Rear Tyres - Are 255/30R19's considered unobtanium?

Not an immediate need, but since my other family car needs a couple rear tires ahead of the MOT, I thought I'd start looking for new rear tyres on my E89. Currently it's got Goodyear F1 Eagle Asymmetric 5's on it, but the rears (255/30R19) need a swap in that they are both running down for tread, and the left rear is Run Flat (right rear is not). Previous owner had a puncture on left rear and didn't realize they swapped it for a run-flat. Front's are non run flat too.

Anyway - I wanted to replace with the Eagle F1 Asymmetric's for the wet road performance.....but everywhere I search online, the 255/30R19 size is out of stock, with a lower price showing me that it's been out of stock for a while. It's the 30 sidewall length from what I can tell, no one seems to carry it.

Are these tyres really that hard to find, or do I just have poor timing with the stock situation?

And - should I be considering a different performance tyre if I want good wet road performance (Are the Eagle F1 Supersports comparable?)

Thanks all. I havn't really dug into tyre comparison for several years now, so I'm a bit out of depth for state of the art!

I'd consider going to Continental Sport Contact 7s which seem readily available in that size and are brilliant tyres. Also the new Bridgestone Potenza Sport Evos are available and are supposed to be excellent.

For best wet weather performance and suiting the E89 chassis and a good ultra high performance tyre then `Conti SC7 is the gold standard…

In the wet the F1 doesn’t hold a candle to the SC7

Openeo.co.uk has plenty to choose from. I wouldn't get my tyres from anywhere else nowadays. All you need is a decent fitters.

It's worth noting that you can put 255/35 19s on the rear without any adverse effect. There is an argument to say they help prevent wheels cracking too.

Don't discount Kumho Ecstas. Good tyres, especially in the wet, not too expensive and come in most sizes.

Mind you...wet weather performance is not needed anymore in the UK. It seems like it's not going to rain again.
