Rear tyre size change

I'm going to get some winter tyres for the z this year but intend using to oem 19inch rims.

I'm struggling to find matching tyres in the correct size.

Currently the rear tyre is 255/30r19.

Would a 255/35r19 tyre fit and work ok?

Opting for a tyre with a 35 depth allows me to fit Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tyres front and back.

Any advice is appreciated.

You'll be lucky to find winter tyres for 19" rims and if you do they will be horrendously expensive.
Cant really understand the logic in going for that size for winters in the first place.
Ur better off with bog standard 18" or less.
My winter rims are 16" but i'm more concerned with roadholding on ice and snow than aesthetics.

I can't be bothered changing the rims so sticking with the 19inch ones on the car.

I've found some tyres (Michelin) that aren't too expensive I just need to know what impact, if any, changing the profile from 30 to 35 will have.

Buy a cheap set of smaller rims off ebay. Then each autumn and spring just switch over the wheels rather than having to get the tyres fitted each time. Will be cheaper.

Your will go from a 25.1 inch diameter tire to a 26.0 inch diameter.
The web site I got these calculations from indicated that the larger tire size should be ok for most cars.

Another question on this topic. If I change the rears to 35 will I have to up the fronts to 40 or can I keep them as 35?

I have got the same set up and was advised by Mr Wilks to go Rear: 255/35/19 & Front: 225/40/19

I think that when it comes to the shoes Mr Wilks is the best person to ask - I think he is more active in the E85 section nowadays !

Going 35 front & rear can be done no problem but ideally bring the tyre widths closer together such as 245 35 / 225 35 or 255 35 / 235 35 ?
Ideally you need to offer up your particular wheel specs RE width & Et (offset) & also whether the car is on Se or Sport springs

I am still on RFT, they are bearable on the E89 unlike my E85 but will defo get rid of them when they need replacing though.
