Hi all.
My E85 failed it's MOT on rear trailing arm bushes.
Am pretty sure this has been asked.
Replace with genuine or power flex or lemforder bushes. Also front control arms. Put meyle hd on 10k ago and those have failed as well..
Am thinking lemforder on all but just wondering what other people have done and the results achieved.
Thanks 👍

Lemforder are the minimum I’d do if I was going the oem route

I found powerflex much easier on the rears despite having the bush press tool

Deffo harsher ride but not the bone crushing experience some intimate

My coupe is fully polybushed and the other half moans about it

But that’s no measure really

Just looking at the powerflex heritage ones. Apparently they are more forgiving than the normal polybush ones.

Will you DIY? If so poly are a much easier install. You won’t notice hardness with the RTABs as they’re a rotational bushing but they will make a big handling difference.
Maybe a little moser noise and if you don’t grease them they can squeak.

Yeah am doing it myself. Spent enough on it this year. MOT said isolating bush on front control arm got play. Take it that's the lollipop one!

Ball Joints are replaceable on Meyle bottom arms. Lemforder are OEM but are very expensive.

thats the trouble with MOT descriptions. It could be that but it could be one on the arm. At this point, if the arms are original you might as well get new arms and fit the lollipops (brake reaction bushing) off the car. Quicker install.

That's what I was thinking of doing change the whole arm. Job done then.
If you’re doing it on axle stands on the drive it’s the easier option imho. As said above, you can get arms with replaceable joins. Just make sure you have a joint splitter. My original arms needed a lot of persuading…
