Rear suspension bushes

Hi guys - hoping for a bit of advice...

I have just been told that by Z4MC needs its rear lower suspension bushes replaced - nearside only but I think both should be done at the same time. Anyone know what sort of money I am in for? I have been to a garage and got a quote which I think is quite steep - they also say they need to re-align the wheels having done this.

I would also be grateful if you could tell me of any good garages in the SW (Wandsworth) area of London for reference. I have a big service due in the not too distant future and would like to have a place I trust for future repairs.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Front rear wishbone bushes

On mine i went polybush at around £150 fitted, an M will be slightly more but not too much maybe £200.

I would use either

http://bmssurrey.co.uk/ ( I use them and they are fantastic)

http://www.munichlegends.co.uk/ ( Have used and are good but BMS are cheaper and closer)

http://www.germantech.co.uk/ (never used but closer)

I live in wimbledon and have used the first 2 with no issues.

Hope this helps

Ash

Thank you hopz121 - I will bear them all in mind - they look like good set-ups. I have been quoted double that price you have but that is to have both sides done and then the wheel alignment (parts + 3 hours of labour quoted (1.5 per side) + alignment).

You can get a pair for around fifty quid, they are known as lollipops, Meyle HD are good. It takes an hour or so per side to fit. Polybushes are noisy, I'm told.

As ever, there is always someone to complicate matters. :)

And you never know. It might just be easier to cough up £150+

I changed mine last week, £56 for Powerflex bushed and fit them to your existing bush housing. Took no more then 1 hour to do both sides, very easy and due to how the housing sits on the chassis no alignment should be needed

3 hours labour to fit is mad they take 30-45 mins per side tops!

M bushes are not the same as other zeds though so make sure you get the correct ones.

The M ones have an off centred hole

I did my FACB in 1.5-2 hrs with the car on jack stands and me on my back (a garage should be able to do this in 1 hour on a lift).

I would get the bushes already pressed in the housing and iirc the reinforcement plate also needs to be removed which has some one time bolts. These are a little pricy from BMW, £26 for 8 bolts!

Don't think there are any reputable does listed around. I live nearish you and i take mine down to Iridium Engineering between Winchester and Southampton.

Bit of a mission, but great service!

Willoceh,

I can replace these for you. I'm near Camberley in Surrey so not mega far from you.

Check out my feedback from the forum :)
