Hello i was wondering if any one would no where i could purchase a rear strut brace that bolts between the strut towers for my E85 i have looked on the web but can not seem to find one i did find one for a E86 and was wondering if it would fit the E85

I would have thought so .....Few on Ebay. Not sure about how much improvement it would make .........we would be interested to know??

I'm pretty sure the dimensions of the base chassis are the same on both, so it should fit. It would be a pig to fit one though, as you have to pretty much dismantle the boot and all its trimmings in the roadster to get to the towers, including the parcel shelf that the roof sits in. And you'd need to be sure that it sits low enough to allow you to lower that tray otherwise the roof won't go down.

Yeah i have dismantle the boot before as i fitted new shocks and springs to the car the thing i was concerned about like you said is whether the roof would still go down properly

If you want it for cosmetic reasons, then it might be worth the effort. If you want to improve the handing then it certainly wouldn't.

Really ?

Yep - I can't find the link at the moment but I considered fitting one a while ago and there was a strong consensus that the rear suspension wouldn't benefit from a strut tower brace. An underbody brace is of use with the Z3MC but I think even that isn't really much use for the Z4.
It's received wisdom, but I'm pretty sure it was offered by the resident experts (exdos et al) when I posted previously and supported with a reasonable argument.
