Rear springs

So I have done my rear springs. Pretty easy I thought but then I put the car back down and it looks like this .... This can't be right will it settle? I've never known a car sit high after the wheels have been off?

You need to drive it to let the springs settle. Drive it for 30 miles then check the dimensions.

'TIS states the standards with 18" wheels with sports suspension are 602mm (front) and 588mm (rear) for E85. The height is measured from the lower flange of wheel (not the ground) to lower edge of wheel arch, with 2x68kg at the seats, 14kg in the boot and full tank of fuel. The difference between left and right should not be greater than 10mm.'

thanks for the info... ill give it a whirl around liverpools screwed roads tm. the cobbled road at mira has nothing on these so they will sort it out good and proper.

in terms of a job to do at home this was super easy. the biggest issue i had was finding some level gound to get the jack on! it took 20 mins to get it off the ground and an hour to do both sides. 1 bolt and a bit of prying and job done. i hate to think how much bmw would have charged for this

Have you taken the handbrake off? If not, it'll sit like that until you roll it backwards and forwards.

If you have and it still sits like that, you've been sent the springs for the se (old man) suspension, rather than sport ones.

We've been there he has Suplex springs 06231 which are for M Sport Suspension.

Lily is right ... Right springs for the car, handbrake was off. It's prob just me being a bit jumpy. I had literally just put it on the floor.

Just been out to collect pizza and I'm sure it's less crashy than before. Prob just placebo me after its been off the ground but hopefully it's settled a bit. I didn't look as it was dark and nothing was stopping me getting to that pizza!

Eibach have been known to supply the wrong spring in the right box. Who's to say suplex haven't done the same?

Well he can check, should have the number stamped on and patches of blue/green paint. I agree it looks like springs for the SE, with the excessive gap at the moment, but he hadn't driven it when he took the photos so they need to settle down first.
