Rear quarter question

I’m going to replace both rear quarter panels soon. Since I’ve done away with my old business radio, I’m thinking about filling the hole for the ariel since it’s not needed. Would you?

Presumably you could still access the cable from the wheel arch if you needed to for some reason. Surely it’s only a matter of time before it becomes defunct permanently anyway given the eventual change to DAB anyway. Would look nice and clean

Depends what you're replacing the wings with. If it needs painting, then ok. But if you use a decent used wing in the right colour, then just fit the shortest stubby you can find.

I plugged it with a rubber bung and a tiny amount of plumbing silicone. It’s lasted about 3 years so far with no leaks underneath and I think it looks great. I can’t justify the cost to weld and paint the hole that’s left, maybe if this car is a keeper, but not now. The antenna (stuby) is intact and underneath. Radio works fine, but I believe it only does AM or FM if the antenna in the rear bumper starts to struggle.

I think FM will be with us for a very long time. DAB reception is crap in comparison in most places.
