Hello there,

I have a bit of an odd issue, my rear parking sensors will error (continuous beep on start up) but only after its been raining. Once its been hot/dry for a couple of days they work perfectly fine.

Any ideas on how i can sort this out? my instinct is that there is a bit of water/moisture affecting the module, but i dont know where it is or how to access it.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,
James

Buy a code reader, I have a Creator 410 but anything similar does the trick.

Check the sensors and PDC via the code reader.

It will tell you whats wrong and what to replace. Mine did the same and turned out to be a faulty sensor of the four which I replaced with one off ebay for £12.99 and all worked fine. Sensors just fail over time, quite normal.

A quick google/search here will turn up similar questions - most of the time its the sensors if not the PDC module which can be found in the boto behind the interior carpeting on the right hand side. Again a search here will turn up a technical diagram.

Blast out each sensor with WD-40. It flushes the moisture out.
Try that first if not scan and it will tell you if you have a faulty sensor and which one

thank you very much for the input chaps.

i have cleaned the sensors which all emit the clicking noise (when fault is active) to indicate they are working so i think it must be the module.

i'll have a dig around in there and see if there is anything obviously wrong.

Just as an FYI I did the checking the clicking thing, they all seemed to do it, yet a code reader identified one as faulty. I went through the whole process of getting a module and changing it and it wasnt that at all.

I would recommend anyone with an E85 getting a £40 code reader like Creator in any case, it will be useful for all sorts of things during your ownership.
