Try a hairdryer on the sensors, they have a problem with water ingress. Usually solves most issues!

Oi ... don't copy my statements :D

You forgot to copy the bit about "it will be most likely a single sensor, listen closely at each sensor and you should hear it click, the one that does not is faulty". :P

Just so it clarifies the situation the long beep followed by silence is the system telling you it's not working (stops you relying on it).
The fault could be sensor, module, cable and needs diagnoring as to which.

Engage reverse, ignition on and place an ear to each sensor in turn. As noted above an audible clicking is normal, silence means that's the broken one. That said the method is not foolproof and some click, but are still not working.

Most likley is a single sensor and above are posted one remedy.

Failing that hook it up to any diagnostic like Carsoft and it will tell yuo which is not working

Mine did that last winter when the car got iced up and covered in salt etc. Once I'd washed the sensors the PDC started to work properly again. Hope the solution to your problem on your car will be as cheap and straightforward.

Cheers for all the help guys. I'll give them a good clean and dry with a hair drier if need be. Hopefully it's something as simple as that and it won't need a trip to the dealer.
