Rear number plate lights.

This might sound like a really dumb question, but how do you remove the rear number plate lights? I've bought some LED replacement bulbs and have been trying to remove the bulb housings. I see there is a small slot on the inside edge of the housing but when i prise it from there it only moves so far then stops - not particularly keen to force it incase it snaps. There also appears to be a spring which I can feel when I push it from the outside edge.

Have tried looking on the forum but can't find out how they're actually removed. Probably really simple as well :roll:
 
I wrapped a flat blade screwdriver in a cloth, inserted on the inside edges (plate side) and gently prised out and down.

Go gently and you should be fine
 
Not a very good picture on the link - but a securing spring clip on one end and plastic insert clips on the other.

They are a pain to remove and I buggered one of the clips when I removed mine. Bent it back in place but then it just would not sit right back in its slot in the bumper. In the end I went and ordered a new one and was only around 4-5 quid.
