Rear muffler

Hi guys

Had the car a few weeks now, just starting to slowly work my way around it putting things right that I wasn’t keen on.

Was getting a banging from the rear end so got the back end up on the axle stands to have a look and found the rear muffler is very badly worn and almost totally detached.

By the look of the two sets of clamps someone has attempted to fix this previously.

Any ideas of the best way to fix? Will it weld together? Will I need a replacement exhaust system?

Appreciate any advice please

Andi

Those joints shouldn’t even be there, looks like a previous owner has hacked the rear silencer off attempting to “improve” the exhaust sound.

Fairly certain this is an early DLV modified backbox without stainless exhaust clamps and sleeves. Mine had corroded exactly the same as this after 3 years on the car. Following a quick phone call with Mike I took the car down to the Zed Shed (I only live 30 mins away) and he replaced the clamps and sleeves. Give him a call as I'm sure he could post some out to you
