Rear lower suspension arm bolts!!

Hi All

Fairly new on here and new to Z4’s but always wanted one! Reasonably handy with the tools so decided to replace the rear brakes. Upon inspection found both shocks and springs shot too! Not a major issue… then noticed the lower suspension arms were equally corroded!! Seemingly not a major issue either… or at least so I thought - after a struggle got the drivers side removed only to move onto the nearside… it seems the through bolt will not pass the drive shaft… is there a trick to this of is it a full subframe out job… ☹️

For the inner lower control arm (camber) you'll need to move the diff, can be done just loosening I think but I've not done it.

Make sure you upgrade the lower suspension arm bush to the same ball joint as the upper.

Can I do this without disconnecting the prop?

Thanks in advance 😊

All you have to do is unbolt the shaft from the Differential (i think 6 bolts) and let it hang out of the way. That gives you enough room to slip the control arm bolt out.

Not sure what you mean by this ??
There are two suspension arms, upper and lower that go into the control arm that the wheel hub is attached to.
The lower one, where the camber is adjusted with a bolt, only has a bushing 33326771828. Upgrade that to the same as the upper one 33306852895.
