Rear lights

I know this is a strange one but here goes. Can I fit pre facelift rear lights to a facelift car. Reason being a have a set & a rear bumper.

You would need the rear light surrounds and the rear bumper carrier from a pre Facelift car, but I don't see why it couldn't be done.

I do have to ask why though  I don't think anyone has done this before.

Taking an after market bumper off & going back to standard. I have a rear bumper & pre facelift lights so thought I would save my self buying new ones. It’s the wiring I’m bothered about as pre facelift lights are wired differently.

So just to be clear you gave pre facelift lights and a pre facelift rear bumper?

What happened to your facelift lights? It would be far easier to just fit a rear bumper and be done with it?

If you’re going the other way round you’ll need new light surrounds, new rear trim panel (that the bumper clips to) in addition to what you have. There is also a change in voltage, I think some stuff is 12v and this would need to be re-coded to 6v. Wiring isn’t a problem as these can be swapped easily.

I’ve gone the other way from pre to post and the 12v/6v thing is the hardest thing.

Also you’ll have to check the light fit the car because I had to modify the cut outs so that you could bolt the 3 light screws onto the car.

Cheers for your response chaps. But change of plan ordered a replacement face lift bumper coming later this week 👍😁
