Got my new EU rear light cluster (thanks Klarky), and fitted the chrome coloured red light for the fog. Before I do the swap can anybody advise on the plastic separator? Does it peel off easily and would suitably strong carpet tape work to adhere it back onto the new unit?

They should come off fairly easily, mine did. They are held in place by a piece of rubberised double sided tape which you should be able to get from a stealer there is part number for them or use cj10's favourite method of a clear silicon adhesive, normal tape may give way it gets abit warm.

bmw use some really good double sided adhesive tape, id suggest silicon adhesive. i used some bostik adhesive i had in the garage so its not going to fall off, but i had no reason to ever remove it either.

Cheers fellas. I'll hunt out some silicone adhesive and give it a whirl.

Inkey,

Where did you get the red/chrome rear fog light lamp from?

Hi Dude

The plastic portion comes off very quickly in the long run. I suggest you to some form adhesives or some other sticking agent to align that element.

take them off, put them in the garage and forget all about them. it looks miles better without the French fry/naff plastic.
