And to the next installment of the project...What to put in place instead of the air ducts........

These are what I've been working on..........A few bits and pieces that require amalgamation....

This shows the BMW 3series brake ducts I have "modified" to fit into the blank next to the lights...

This shows the LED's in operation. 1 powered up on halo ( which will be DRL's) the other on main (fog)

Please excuse the sate of the car is mid respray.

I admire the ingenuity and modding, but can't get my head around totally blocking off the ducts. Traditionally false or blanked inlets and ducts have been a standard manufacturer trick to designate base models.

I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product, but am sure the Drl element of the conversion will be great.

Point taken CJ. They ain't finished yet not by a long way. Got figure out how to utilize the 3 series brake ducts I've modded to give some form of duct to the left hand side of the light. Can feel another template coming...... :headbang:

Well finally got it fitted.

Original bumper removed.

New one ready to go on.

This section was the offending piece of front lower inner that was catching.

On this part of the m bumper.

this is the other side already broken so was flexing to allow bumper to fit on this side.

This shows the piece I removed 1 and now clears 2 to fit.

All done and finished with fabricated fang protectors/splitters and brake duct/fog light all fitted(lights still to wire up).

Very well done.
Did you ever consider placing the lights in the solid area of the center grill ?

Cheers for the comments guys makes all the work worth doing. To answer questions...... yep I'm definitely well chuffed with it makes the car look more like a Sports Car bit more aggressive . I did consider putting the lights in the front grill but was 1. wary of cutting holes in a brand new grill and 2. it's been done before and wanted to try something different. I will take some more pics and post later, I take it you mean the intake/light area Mark?
I just need to remove it all again though later to wire up the lights, once I've figured out where I can get a live supply off the ignition for the halo's to act as DRL's.

Yes pics of light an intake, the box top right of engine bay if looking from the front 4 torx screws I think. That will have the connections you need

Really liking that jak looks quality work. Agree with it looking more aggressive
