Rear end Quad Conversion Progress.

As you can hear its not quite but it is almost straight through. I do get drone but i am planing on mounting the exhaust better. As its almot bolted straight to the car at the moment and i think this is the problem.

Speaking of quad exhausts. Has anyone ever dealt with TopGear just outside of Doncaster? ?
Been quoted £350-£400 depending on tips chosen.

I would say that's a bloody good price

It's a good price considering I paid £300 for the tube work alone on my system several years ago, albeit beautiful stainless pipework.

Key to though is much more the sound and quality of work as the price.

Cheers for the input guys.

MM, it just sounds like it should do to me!!

May crawl under and have a look at that carbon filter thing and see if I can "relocate it".. and then see if the guy local to me would be willing to do the work so I don't have to travel.( Lazy B'tard).....

As for the price I was quoted I was just wondering if anyone had/seen/heard/had done any of their work.???

The only thing that would be missing from the "whole package" would be a nice set of MM Tips.... :poke:

BTW...picked up the front bumper today, looks great.......and I had a present from the US arrive today........pics to follow later when I've taken some..

Well, bumper is back from bodyshop resplendent in it's new coat and it looks great..

Been tinkering with some templates for fang protectors too. The pictures show one which I have have left bigger to give a splitter effect.
2nd pic has a piece of card on one end hiding a portion of the protector to show a different profile. Opinions welcome...

Quite like that! Not really sure on which is better. Maybe paint the card black?

Regarding rear lights, please tint them! They look awful and I remember having them like that on mine

The piece of white card was meant to hide a piece of the protector to give it a different profile. I've doctored this pic to see if it makes it clearer or were you thinking of making the back edge as big as the piece of white card??

I see your point over the rear lights but I think I'll stick with 'em for while.. :poke:

That's the one I like in last pic

I reckon I prefer that one too, Mark. Looks more "finished off" with the outside edge being rounded back in line with the bumper.

Is your car still in bits or are you going to the midland meet

Don't know yet. Car is all together, so it's a possibility.

The missus has just found out how much I've been spending just before holidays, so in bad books.. :(

No pass stamped as yet........

It's a good time to protect your Fang from road abrasions.
I was looking at something similar.
But I was unsure if something that protrudes out from under that far, would more easily catch and destroy the Fang.
I was thinking that a very large washer attached to the inner corner of the Fang would protect better with less chance of hanging up on something. (The washer would be hidden under the Fang in case yo imagined it poking out :) )

Also would applying whatever shield you choose with 3M 2 sided auto trim tape allow for the shield to disengage from the Fang without tearing off parts of your bumper.

Actually I would appreciate owners of M Bumpers comments on Fang Protection.

Cheers Bumpy

I would make the gang protectors the same profile as the fangs. Having them extended probably won't add any protection and looks Shiite. Just my opinion though.

What he said.

Speaking from a bad experience, I caught my fang protector on a kerb and on reversing back, it ripped off the underside flat piece of the bumper which the fang sits on.

Painful lesson I learned that night!

So what did you do after that experience ?
After the repair did you just leave it without protection ?

From what I've seen, the point of most abrasion appears to be under the pointed part of the fang.
And if something small ..like a flat washer or a rounded head bolt would provide protection while allowing the fang to flex (a bit) over the speed bump or curb.

Do not confuse this with military spec armor plate. If you run head long into a curb at speed, fang damage will be the least of your worries.

as you have your bumper already off, and already making templates...... maybe you should speak to dans6490 on this thread below.... and could possible help a lot of members out....
