Rear Bumper Fixings

Am I right in thinking that what looks like a rubber gasket between the top of the rear bumper and the bottom edge of the rear wing is actually part of the clip assembly that holds the bumper in place? Part 5 on the RealOEM link?

The reason I ask is because mine seems to be broken and I want to make sure I get the right part before taking the bumper off. Are the rear clips as much of a pain to replace as the front ones?
 
Part 5, yes, made of plastic. I've not had my rear bumper off but srhutch has, as have many others so hopefully someone can tell you how easy it is.
 
As above it is part 5, but no idea how difficult they are to remove. I just changed by bumper cover.

Edit, looking at the pics I've taken I'm guessing it fits the same way :thumbsdown:
 
That's great - thanks guys. Reading Bing's post on the front bumper, I think I'll invest in a dremel.
 
I would be very careful if you plan to use a dremel :cry:

I released my front one using a DIN radio removal tool. The bend in it worked as a perfect lever. Only difference was the wing wasn't on the car.
 
Hi these are 'break' to remove. I used a small pairs of cutters and a bit of force to snap/break the bracket off.
But take your time you don't want to damage your paintwork

...and you don't want to bend the metalwork that the part clips into or it will sit wonky when fitted. I know, I had to carefully re-shape one side of my front wing fixing slightly...

Part ordered... I'll take some photos and post the results. Are there any other fixings that I might need to replace when I take the bumper skin off? Thinking about the wheel arch studs?
 
Re the wheel arch studs, these can be removed and re-used, just push the centre pin through with a appropriate size allen key, this will then allow you to remove the stud body.

You may find the pin drops out from the stud when pushed through so you'll need a keen eye to find them.

Once done insert stud body back into hole and push pin through centre with a bit of lube, if you prefer :roll:
