Rear brake pipes.

While I have the car in bits I checked under the plastic pipe covers on the passenger side (UK) for rot, grot and the like. I found the brake pipes had joints in and think the rear sections have been replaced at sometime as is common on these cars. I'm assuming they are "aftermarket" joints as they don't match. The only thing that makes me wonder if they are OEM is that the paint seems the same all the way along to the front of the car which seems unlikely if not original - unless they have been replaced all the way to the front.

Can anyone confirm for sure if they are a repair or original ? Its not an issue but would be interested to know as part of the car's history.

Apologies the picture orientation is a bit odd.

Thanks.

There is one join as factory (I know why just one)

The original pipes are steel and painted a dark green, photos of mine as I cut and replaced the rear sections.

Many thanks. Very helpful. Looks like I have one original joint similar to your one and one new. Both rear sections are copper painted black. In looking more closely at my photo, there is a fair amount of overspray on the original sections which added to the uncertainty.
