Rear Brake Pipe Replacement costs

Anyone have any recent prices for replacing rear brake pipes. Just been advised mine need doing and I've been quoted about £440 all-in to do them both sides. I've no idea on costs so was just looking for a guide really.

Before anyone suggests DIY I've neither the time, tools or expertise!

That seems a very high cost to me when you can buy a set (4 off) of SS braided pipes for £60 - £70. If you factor in a fluid change, fitting, testing etc then total cost should be under £200.

Am I better off going non-OEM then as they need replacing anyway?

Is it the Pipe/Lines or the Hoses that need replacing OG?

If its the hoses then ekimj10 is correct that seems a bit steep as its not a hard job at all.

If its the brake likes then i can't comment but it doesnt sound too bad.

Is the quote from an Indy?

My MOT last year advised me about corroding rear brake pipes and told to grease them which I did. They didn't feel that bad to me but he put it as an advisory on the sheet.
I re greased them last week before I took it for MOT again and he never said anything about them but put on the advisory sheet " Rear brake pipes have been greased "
Why did he need to put that down??

The said pipes can't be any more than 8" long because there is a flexible pipe before it and a flexible pipe after, so why is it so expensive to replace them? and easy accessible.

It's the pipes and the quote is from a BMW dealer.

Hi,
I was quoted €400 by a BMW dealer here to replace rear brake lines , so sounds about right.

I did them my self for about €120 for tools and material plus my own time about 5-6 hours

Local Garage would do it for at least half that price. the pipes are quite short and will probably be jointed from the trunking just in front of the rear axle. There is a rather (and over engineered) section on each trailing arm between the two flexibles which would probably be OEM but can be removed by a professional.
Why not fit flexibles (goodridge Hel or similar) to the rear and remove the 3 sections that are fitted as standard? Never have any further problems
