Rear brake pads bmw vs brembo

I am just about to have the rear pads replaced on my 60 plate 23i, has anybody got experience of brembo pads on these cars ? The BMW dealer has obviously quoted for BMW items where as the Indy who is considerably cheaper has quoted brembo items. Both the dealer and Indy say the discs are ok and do not need replacing.

I use brembo items on my BMW motorbike but that has brembo calipers as well, they are ok on the bike.
 
If you don't race/thrash the car then OEM are more than adequate.
I would be wiling to bet that no one without racing experience could tell the difference.
 
Ask the indy if they can supply Pagid instead.

I've used Brembo pads in the past and lost the initial bite. Pagid pads behave exactly like genuine pads (possibly because the genuine BMW ones are just rebranded Pagid?)
 
Had Brembo discs and pads all round on mine and no issues what so ever. Didn’t notice any difference between them and the standard bmw ones.
 
We have Brembo discs and pads front and rear of the Z4 and front discs and pads and rear pads only on the X6.
The only thing I have noticed is that they squeal a bit more after the cars have been washed until the pads have done a sweep of the discs.
Never noticed this with the standard brakes.

OEM pads are Textar. Good initial bite but dust quite abit. No squeals though.
 
Thankyou all for the advice. Warmasice is correct regarding the dust, I have never known a car or bike like it. Car was spotlessly clean last night, a 100 mile round trip to the Wilton House wake up this morning and the wheels are looking distinctly black ! On balance I think I am going for the brembo pads. Will let you know the outcome, car is road use only so will give them a try . If no good will revert to OEM.
 
Just consider if you improve the rear brakes too much you will un balance the car under heavy braking, you don't want the rear becoming loose although the electronics will take care of it most if not all of the time and you have improved the rear brakes to then have the electronics de power them.
You need to keep a good balance
Just a thought
 
I have a lot less dust using EBC green stuff pads. And even less with the drilled discs i use as i think the original discs might have very effective grinding effect on the pads creating lots of dust.
