Hi guys,
I have 6cd autochanger, but how do i select the next cd from head unit?
I can move from track to track, but have no idea how to change cd. As much as i love the manics, i want to change cd, but not unload the cartridge a reload all the cds again, thats mad!
Help!!!!

Gents, many thanks, that was so obvious, but I had to ask. Just picked the car up yesterday, thought I had all the controls sussed out swell, then I found out I didn't.
Cheers

If you press the button immediately to the right of button 6, the tracks play randomly across all CDs. An * in the small display indicates this is active.

Welcome
The 6 CD changer is nice but has a habit of sticking, being unable to get the cartridge out. One way to remove it without dismantling the centre consul and CD changer is to give a smart tap with your fingertips on the front of the CD cartridge, it should then eject. Cleaning the CD trays with a domestic polish containing silicone seems to reduce the problem.

For the benefit of the OP, how easy is it to ditch that head unit and changer and replace it with a later unit that can take an iPod or 3.5mm Aux jack? I don 't know the early cars at all....

dont feel silly- I've had my z for nearly 4 years now and feel quite competent in knowing z4's + and - points pretty well, but still find new things- for example it was only the other day I realised my wipers go onto a slow cycle when in stop start traffic! Welcome

I'd be interested to hear any responses to lacroupade's suggestion as my changer now tells me 'no discs' even though it is fully loaded.

Sorry to have been the harpinger of doom but this is probably the sticking tray issue I mentioned above :( once cleaned mine works for months then will suddenly throw a wobbly again.
