Ready for the winds?

For those of you experiencing wind, just remember all you are seeing at the moment is a precursor, the storm proper isn't expected to hit the UK before midnight :!:

It’s been very windy all morning on the South Devon coast, already had some minor branches down in woodland near to the sea front

at least the UK wind farms may get a few revolutions for their rusty turbines
Perhaps not, the BBC have said that this one came down on Saturday because it was too windy

So, come Monday morning, there might be quite a few more lying down and having a rest

Spent an extra-specially long time putting the cover on today, resulting in a higher-than-average number of sympathetic stares from passers by.

Well it's quite blowy hear has been all morning and it's a claiming down a bit at the moment. Had quite a few scary moments today trying to felt and batten the garage!!

Bloody Hell. And I don;t say that lightly.
1. I'm doing three flights tomorrow. BIrmingham-Copenhagen-Oslo-Molde. If that doesn't get me,
2. I'm then doing a day's work on Tuesday, followed by another two flights in the evening - Molde - Oslo-Billund.
3 Worst of all.... It's bin day on our street tomorrow. Zombie bins rolling about our close like some sort of Green/Blue Dalek invasion......
Might get the bubble wrap out. :x

Working from home tomorrow, c2c and greater anglia have both suspended trains until 9am at the earliest.

Anything loose has been put in the shed and the zed is tucked up in the garage :)

What’s all the fuss about. :poke:

Took the Zed out for a spin this morning, up to the local reservoir. Lovely sunny drive. Good news was, no goods vehicles about I guess, due to the blustery conditions.

This afternoon took the little Mazda up to the North coast for a couple of hours surf, as dark was falling. The sea is quit big, but nothing amazing yet. Guess it will be bigger overnight.

I'm preparing by locking windows and doors, lighting a big log fire in the lounge and then consuming an alcohol based beverage.. I believe that will be sufficient.

I think one major concern is that all the leaves will get blown off the trees and into the drains, blocking them and preventing all the wet stuff from draing away quickly enough.

Sounds pretty reasonable thing to worry about to be honest.
However still waiting for the wind to arrive here in Cornwall. Though I have heard there are power outs in Newquay.

Bit blustery outside in derby... Had to take the car cover off... Incase it flew away.

But hardly hurrican force winds.

Severe Weather Warning - Met Office advice is to stay away from the remote control and don't watch the news. Not much happened today (Sorry Lou, No offence), so they will be sexing up this weather story to the max.
