Don't start that debate...the E85 is a sports car the E89 is a cruiser they are totally different tools...both great though

Waiting for Quadracer to answer that one.

Quadracer has spent a lot of money on his to make it the car it is...

AlanJ - I think I can be of some assistance :D

I live in Cheltenham, back at the end of May/ start of June my zed went into Cotswold BMW (Cheltenham) for MOT and that's when I first laid eyes on this car, and have been watching it since.

So back in June this year it was first listed at £19,950 in Cheltenham. I knew it wouldn't sell (never helped that they sat it next to a pair of E89's that were at circa £21k!!).

After a little while they dropped the price to £19,450 and still no change. What with the nice summer maybe they were optimistic but as I say sitting an over priced '07 plate next to all the other convertibles was never helping win people over. It dropped to £18,950.

So it was early August when it finally disappeared, or so I thought. I started dating a girl in August (now Girlfriend 8) ) who happens to live round the corner from the Gloucester Dealership and it was on the way over to her one day that I noticed it sat at there. Price now dropped by another k obviously.

Two things I guess:

1. You'll be in a strong position in terms of price, I'm pretty sure after a few months of it sitting around they'll been keen to get rid of it.

EDIT: just to say I guess it may be of concern that the car has been sat around that long, but with that low a mileage at that age, I'm guessing it's not been driven that regularly anyway.

Oh and...

2. I never asked any questions about it but I did have a good look round it a couple of times, it really is a stunning car, if it weren't for the price I could have been tempted. The interior looked in great condition but I seem to recall a few little marks on the bodework that you'd want sorted... of course that may have been done now anyway.

Any further questions don't hesitate to ask

It's lovely, but overpriced even as it is. IMMie was up at 18850 with 6000 miles on the clock. Otherwise, and other than colour, spec for spec almost identical.

I reckon you'd get that for mid 16s

Cotswold BMW aren't keen to do deals, I walked away from a 3.5iS there as they were unrealistic on their price and crap on part ex.

Good luck if you go for it though, it's lovely.

Cool, I can live with that  . Still a lot of money though in my opinion.
I agree it does seem strong money but I have purchased all my bmws as AUC cars apart from my zed & AUC are always historically overpriced but I have been willing to pay it for the piece of mind...although that's still not guaranteed.

As for the E85/E89 debate bmw deliberately made the E89 a cruiser as thats what customers wanted, I love both incarnations & I personally prefer the looks of the E89 & really like its versatile nature with the hard top, but I do believe the E85 to be a more sports orientated steer.

I know but he'll still speak up for it.
So he should  I would never dream of taking my M3 on a track as its not a track car it's a Coupe with a nice engine under the bonnet, I would invest in a car built for the track not the other way round but that's just me it's each to their own.

AlanJ - Don't know if you're still looking but price has dropped again...

Now £15,950

That's still a lot of money. Especially in the low season. I have that spec except the Sat Nav and bought mine two years ago for £15k with 15k on thr clock. If you bide your time, I bet you'll get a better price. Good luck though - lovely looking.

... And now just sold it! What a fantastic car this was, posting this so if the new purchaser has any questions they can message me!

That Z4M will be sorely missed. :driving: Good luck to the new owner
