Reached one of life's milestones today

Not got to that stage with daughter yet Stuart but for a while there was a different pair of shoes outside my son's bedroom door on saturday/sunday mornings followed by strange girls shouting "bye" around lunchtime :roll: felt like i was living on the set of Hollyoaks :oops:

if and when kids arrive i'm hoping for boys...get to manage the football team (I have a theory that I think would get any U10 team to the top in two seasons...and it's not a Spanish style midfield) and I couldn't cope with some smug twat at my breakfast table if I had a daughter!
 
Wow, even as a 30-something, if I brought a boyfriend back to my parents, there is NO WAY we could sleep in the same room.

They're not in the same room and I've loosened a floorboard or two so I can hear any tell tale squeaks in the middle of the night :)

Good plan :thumbsup: At 18 I was not allowed boyfriends. That was my incentive to go to uni far away :)
 
Am sure the dogs would alert you to any sneaking manoeuvres, Stuart. Mine are up at the slightest noise at night :)

makes me feel old i have 2 sons 29 years old and 25 years old .great lads the pair of them really hard working and both look after there partners and my 2 gran children atreat.great lads :thumbsup: so proud

Haha , it was different girl different shoes but last 6 months its same girl ,same size but different shoes :oops: thinks its the secret code for don,t come in mum cause i am not alone , definitely won,t be the same for daughter but quite how i,l explain the one rule for him & not her is TBD later :wink:
 
Daughter's boyfriend plucked up courage and asked for a go in the car. We might have gone quite fast... *innocent look*

He's got a big silly grin that matches mine now :D

I'm on your parents side on this one! My daughter is 30 and I tend to subscribe to the same strict victorian father school !
I wonder why it is that every generation thinks that they have invented "nookie"
 
Get a bottle of 18yr old, find the number of a good therapist, drink the Scotch and face it. You can't stop it, you can't do anything about it so manup and try not to cry too much. My pal had two daughters, both in their teens......you could have been him... :thumbsup:

ps: he went grey very quickly as I recall....but the girls turned out just fine. :thumbsup:
 
My wife would rather they be in our house & she knows where they are than be out & about & you have no idea :wink:
whereas i would prefer to bury my head in the sand in a ostrich-like Stuart Truman fashion :roll: :P
form birth all offspring are much more worry & concern than you could ever know :? many many pleasures though
no regrets & have our daughter & son down as my best achievement :thumbsup:
 
Son 21 too and daughter 18. I thought they'd be thinking of leaving home by now but instead we've gained two more children as I think their boyfriend and girlfriend have moved in. I love them all so wouldn't have it any other way. Good job it's a big old house with thick walls.
Milestone for me next year, hit the big 50
