does any one recommend of a good place in the north east england to get a remap, i have seen loads of places recomended but i want some where that has a good rep, an will get the best gains
thanks

Very little point in remapping a naturally aspirated engine. You might get smoother power delivery but actual bhp gains will be negligible.

Quick search through the various web sites shows only a potential 15 bhp increase + improved throttle response for £3/400. Not sure if this outlay is worth it. Evolve come with a good reputation but you will have to travel:

Superchips under £300 I know they are generic but they are a massive company, been around the block and wont f**k your car.
they are available thought the uk. they claim 14bhp increase and that’s not to bad in a n/a. I’ve had all my turbo'd cars map'd and my Clio cup back in the day I found that performance wise no to much but noticeable I’d say worth £300. I will be mapping mine once I find one.

that’s my 2 cents.

wilko, While you might not gain much power with a remap you will generally see an improvement in other areas such as throttle response (as AlanJ mentioned), engine smoothness and a more linear power delivery. For some that justifies the cost.

Some tuners provide a money-back guarantee, they remap it and if you're not happy for whatever reason they'll return it to stock and refund your money. Maybe find such a tuner so you can try first?

yeh i know it wont do much to the bhp but it should bring the power in lower down the rev range ? i think an make the car feel like it has more torque. cheers

Ive had mine done, but found the power is still more top end. I had my 330 done and the curve was much better, but with the Z the power still comes on tap all at 3k pretty much. I had a coil pack down when i first did it, so did not notice it too much, but since being healthy again i would say its worth doing

I had mine done by CNL remapping, and Colin is renowned for being one of the better mappers, as its not a generic map. If you can get a live map on a rolling road then brilliant, but normally they are 1k plus for a decent one, and only get 25bhp ish, so 15-20 for £300 is very good imo.
