Its interesting..I can't see any cooling fans from the picture angle?

Well, throughly enjoyed my morning at Ptorque and my Zed was tuned by a real gent named Will. So my Zed went in today having a stage 2 on the drive Celtic map done lSeptember 2019, then catback Supersprint exhaust was fitted March 2020 and then a decat pipe fitted 6 weeks ago. The car has been run only on V power for the last 12 months and new spark plugs were fitted in June 20 and this is a manual car.
So the before Dyno run 244 bhp and 343Nm
The after and final Dyno run 282 bhp and 456Nm
And I have to say the performance now is very impressive and the pick up in all gears is spot on. I am really pleased with the results👍
Ptorque are recommended by me!!!!
And finally if you are going to get a remap get a dyno done with it.

So the 244 bhp was a Celtic tune with decat and new exhaust and the 282 is the same config with a fresh re-map?

Well impressive Boltz, 456Nm of torque is the same as PBondars yellow peril. Did Will mention the benefits of installing a larger intercooler?

He did but explained that benefits would be if I was hoofing it on warm days...I might still get a Wagner fitted I think but want to look at improving the handling now

This beast was there when I arrived, It’s getting prepared to go racing.

So on a Stage 2 Celtic tune they predicted 241 BHP and 350 NM and you got 244 BHP and 344 NM which lines up given the view is that the de-cat doesn't matter much to BHP/Torque but helps spool up time..

Your's has an electronic wastegate control..

Very good result..I'm just trying to see what variables effect the outputs..

Interesting that in most cases the later tuners manage to smooth out the ripples in the torque curve between 2k and 4k...

All the torque curves are broadly similar, yours is slighly more 'peaky' (not that compared to a NA car you'd call it peaky) than mine and MACK who did the same MAP/ dyno and yours rev'd just a little higher..but the area under the graph on the torque is large so that will translate into lots of 'shove'..

If there was a benefit to the exhaust system you would have expected more top end but it looks like all of them that it just runs out of puff at the very top end..

The techie at Performance Centre said that some N20 engines came with lower compression and wider duration larger lift exhaust cams, and they just sang on..I've not seen any E89s fitted with that combo..

Compared to a 30i it outruns in on torque by a huge margin and bhp by a fair amount and even a 35i you are better on torque if not BHP..

Peter, no mention of the effects the stubby in your analysis😂

I seem to have a penchant for upsetting people with my acerbic comments so decided not to mention it..but I'm sure it would be a lot smoother and sound nicer if you put a whippy back!

Good result on you remap. especially that torque figure, did you ask Will to go for broke or rein it in a little for safety?
That Z4M was there back in late July when mine was mapped. Same spot as well, looks like it's become a permanent resident. :D

Mack, I took the safe option. It went well he did it all through the OBDI and the car is incredible now and don’t forget mine is the 18i so nearly an increase of 130bhp from standard👍The car showroom next door is very tasty isn’t it?

To be honest I didn't look, as I had some work to get on with in the waiting room

biZ4rreMids, When you get the Zed mapped by Ptorque you are in for a real treat, took mine through the Queensway tunnels this morning and the performance is so good now and the Supersprint sounds wonderful!!!!

Will confirmed that the decat pipe will be dispatched from Italy in the next 10 days but still awaiting an installation and remap date. You have the full supersprint exhaust don’t you whereas I’ll only have the decat pipe so a very different sound. When you met Will did he discuss remapping close to 300bhp? I seem to remember Mack writing that Will offered him the option but Mack took the more sensible option to keep it at 282bhp!
Once Wills worked his magic I’ll be considering brakes and suspension upgrades although I may postpone this until the Spring.
The last time I went through Queensway Tunnels was on my sadly gone Ducati 1098 with carbon cans... Kaboom!!!
