Rattling noise.....Found but ....... Fix? NOW REPAIRED!

Hi All,

I've always had a really annoying rattle/knocking coming from the boot area of the car since purchasing 2 1/2 years ago...

Today I needed some extra space in the boot for a suitcase, for the first time I raised the shelf thingy (not sure what the actual part is called), the noise has stopped! I dropped my mate off, removed his case and dropped the shelf to normal position..... the noise is back!!! :thumbsdown:

Now I finally know what this annoying noise is.... is this a common problem or an easy fix :?

OK thanks I'm Just going to have a look at fixing it..... it's a lovely day in sussex for a drive out too :driving:
 
After having a good look, its really very simple mechanism, found item 3 (folding hinge) very dry and creaking.... lubricated with some lithium grease & all seems well... Simples! :thumbsup:

I'm putting this down to dust build up over the years and the shelf unit actually not being used very often (or never) :rofl:
