Rattling Mirror Case

Does anyone know how to stop a side view mirror case rattle? Every time I shut my door, the case rattles. It's definitely NOT the mirror, but casing. It seems slightly loose, but I haven't been able to see a way to tighten it.

Also, should the actual mirror have a rubber gasket around it? My passenger side mirror has a gasket but not the driver side.

Btw, I didn't know my mirror case was rattling until I put Dynamat in my driver side door. Now the door sounds like a real car when I shut the door. The tin can sound was so loud that it was masking the rattle of the mirror case. haha

Any help appreciated!!

Doubtful it’s the case as they are secured with 6-7 screws to the body of the mirror

I’d pop it off the car for a look- take the tweeter off, unplug the electrics and undo the 3x torx30 bolts holding it to the car and see if you can find the culprit

The rubber surround means it's a self dimming mirror. They are very expensive so I'd guess the other side has been replaced at some time with a standard one.

OK, good to know. I'll give that a try!

Oh interesting! Actually, the previous owner replaced the right side mirror, which is the one with the rubber surround. The left side is original and doesn't have the surround. The previous owner didn't know what he was doing.... I'm fixing long lists of errors. haha
