Rattles

Love it! Thanks for the pics too!

For me the only rattles I have are from the passenger-side foldy-door-shelf, and sometimes the sun visors. Sounds like I'm lucky!

As for this one:

Also make sure your seat is not touching the rear bulkhead.

I'm 6'5", easier said than done. :P

Do you have run-flats?

My car does, and when driving on a smooth piece of road it is silent, but as soon as there is any texture in the road surface, the rattles begin. Do non-rft's help?

Still rattles around, but one new one, i fitted some extra speakers behind the seats, where the bass speakers would fit. I noticed a resonate buzz at certain sound frequencies. Thought something loose in speaker, turned out it was the iso fix fastening ring above vibrating.

I have a rattle from somewhere around the light switch which is profoundly irritating ...anyone had this/fixed it?

My pre lci e89 buzzed & rattled like an angry rattlesnake but my later car is virtually silent, I wonder if Bmw introduced “fixes” on the assembly line to counter these issues?

I have never ever noticed rattles in all the old bangers i have had in the past.
Buy a quality car, comes with quality noises.

Their seems to more plastic in the rear of the e89 than any other car I have seen. I am going to attack the rattles this week.

Yep, mine's quiet.

I get some irritating rattles intermittently when driving over certain road surfaces. Seems to come from behind the instrument cluster although I think it’s worth checking under the speaker grill on the dash. Sounds like a screw is slightly loose (that’s the car, not me!).

Then very occasionally there is the odd rattle from what appears to be behind the passenger seat, but there seems to be no pattern to when it happens.

Might be placebo effect, but I’m sure they got less noticeable after ditching the runflats.
