Rattles...

Its so reassuring that BMW's are built so well don't you think :headbang:

Have to report some slight rattles (on rough roads and over bumps), nothing compared to our R57 mini convertible though. Could be the roll hoops, wind deflector or the storage area behind the seats - lots of hard plastics around that area. Going to investigate fully tomorrow.

I picked up my new Z4 sDrive 20 M Sport on the 20th March 2012 and it has already been back to the deal twice to get a rattle fixed. I have had a number of BMW's and MINI's over the years and the build quality on new models appears to me much worse. We purchased a 120d M Sport at Christmas and that rattled, it has been back twice and is booked in again as the dealer appears unable to find a permanent fix. The dealerships attitude is don't worry it's covered under warranty, to me that's not the point, the problems shouldn't have been there in the first place.

They assure me the Z4 is now fixed but I have my doubts :x I have a feeling we will be going back to either an AUDI or Mercedes next time as we have always been happy with their build quality. :driving:

I'm starting to wonder if we have the only rattle free e89 in existence.

It makes one thunk noise about 10 seconds after driving off. After that nothing. Only had the car 10 days though. Hope I didn't just jinx it.

You've only had it five minutes... Give it a couple of years like mine, for things to loosen up a bit ;)
