Hi, I have a 2.2i and it has started making a rattling noise on the first start up of the day, it only lasts for a few seconds and stops when the engine is running. It doesn’t do this for the rest of the day until the next morning cold start. Does anyone know what this is please, the dizer valve was replaced with an upgraded aluminium one by a previous owner. I’m sorry if I have posted this twice now but the other one has disappeared into thin air.
Update on sound, now I have listened a bit more carefully it sounds like someone with a very bad cold clearing their throat. Could this be the starter motor packing up? Now this is happening at random times.
