I’m still debating about having a twin exit system, whilst trawling eBay I came across this.

Did BMW produce a sportier rear valance with a 35iS style diffuser for the 4 pot turbo cars??

Hmm Seems to have been very short lived. RealOEM says:

51122159194
Trim, nozzle, HP, painted, upper
CODE UNI/MET
single exhaust outlet pipe

From:
03/01/2010
To:
04/15/2010

Soooooo.....I have a confession :D

...will get some better pix up when Weather not torrential here in Edinburgh. So yeh, a very rare rear valance which was only produced between March and April 2010 then scrapped. So very unique. I just had to snap it up.

SteveSmith - is bloody wicked and is a much better fit round the exhaust pipes :D :D :D :D

Andybmwheels - thank you for the inspiration 8)

No problem mate  thought id seen the vibe before somewhere

That is a DISTINCT improvement for the back of the E89!
Toughens it up a bit.
Likey

Actually the diffuser at the bottom is part number 51122158799 and was widely available from 1/2008-8/2016 according Real OEM.

So you can simply add this to any M sport bumper..18 20 23 28 30 35

It MAYBE that the 2.3 M Sport bumper has a different part number to the 18i 20i 28i which accounts for a 'tighter'fit?

Actually the 23 and 18/20/28 all have the same part number for the piece around the tailpipes...so all you need is any MSPORT bumper and the rear diffuser plus a few clips and screws..

No it’s a different rear valance. The exhaust outlet has a lip around it and it has a cut out in the middle for the diffuser piece.

Who knew they were so popular :poke:

Pbonder - No this is part number 51122159194 which is different and is the only one made to fit a one-sided, passenger side, double tail piped, single back-box exhaust. It was only produced between March and April 2010 before BMW decided that they would only produce it for the 35i to distigush it from lesser models. Anything under the 35i gets the colour coded valance without the diffuser or just the grey valance on older models. Which makes my valance very rare and unique indeed. The link you supplied, links to the 35i valance and diffuser.

I have Steve to thank for finding this gem and Mr wilks for the inspiration. Its not a patch on Mr Wilk's 35i's perfect form by any means but seen as he's sold his 35i I didn't think he'd mind

New tips on the way for mine....and toying with the Idea of debadging also.

Here's a clearer pic now that it has finally stopped raining here.

On further research for the 20i/28i/2.3 the two parts, the bumper inset and the tray underneath are readily available from a number of mostly German BMW parts dealers. Around £170 ish gets you all the parts you need,,

Hi all.
I'm being a real numpty here... but can you still get the twin outlet valance with tray.. like Stuartt , and if so what is available exhaust wise to convert from twin pipes one side to one either side on a 2.0?
