I'm guessing set by a race - test driver , it's like all these records , not relevant to any of us normal drivers .
I've been round with a couple of vln drivers and they operate on a different level to most .
It's very impressive though , defies the laws of physics almost !

Nice. I always wanted a car that could lap the ring in under eight minutes, mark me out as a flash bastard, and allow me to carry a few sheep in the boot.

That's an impressive headline for the RRS, JLR are on a roll.

Interesting to see reactions as RR steps into porsches performance SUV space (Cayenne Turbo/GTS) :driving:

Is that in case you get horny while you're out for a drive...? :P

When I drove the stock new RRS V8 petrol around the Gaydon test track I was very impressed and very surprised on not only the speed of the thing but the way it handled (and sounded). If this is better then blimey! 8) All for serious money mind!!

After test driving the V8 F-Type R which was also awesome, out of the two I would choose the RRS V8 myself.

I think its a good achievement to hustle 2.5 tonnes about the Ring quicker than an E46 M3. Probably more pointless is to consider what MPG it achieved. Any idea on the expected costs of these yet?

From a market supply demand perspective it's not pointless, RR are looking to make more profit by stealing market share of which Porsche own hands down on the performance SUV market, mpg probably about 10-15mpg is probably considered reasonable. Pointless to most folks but if you're in the market for a fast lux SUV for £100k plus, then there's no such thing as pointless, I think good on JLR for going for it

It will be big in the Oil Fields of the Middle East and thats what matters.

When I was giving that new RRS V8 some stick on the test tracks it was showing around 7 MPG average! As stated, most of these will go to Arab states!
