Range Rover Evoque driven!

Keep Z, get Evoque. Sell Z get Evoque. Keep Z get snotter. Unsure.
If keep Z and get Evoque then one is gonnae sit as third car and not get used. So either sell Z get Evoque or keep Z get snotter.

I'm having a similar debate! Mrs needs a car. She has a MINI S at the moment, I have the Z4 and we have an old 4x4 for the knockabout/winter car. I got fed up seeing my Z4 sat on the drive in that snow last winter! I could hardly get it off my drive!

Sell Z4 and 4x4, get Evoque, keep MINI. Sell MINI and 4x4, get Evoque (I'd be stuffed getting to work if it snowed then), keep Z4. Sell MINI, 4x4 and Z4 get Evoque and a Smart car for the Mrs! Stay as we are!! :?

Can you keep Z4 and 4x4, but sell Mini and buy Evoque (having 3 cars in total)? Is keeping 4x4 too expensive?

The problem is the 4x4 we have is getting on now and it needs some work. Although it's only a 1300cc tax a year is almost as much as the Z4 and the MPG isn't much beter! My Z4 spends more time sat in the garage than it does on the road these days as I cycle to work now so only really need it at weekends and then I'm stuffed if I'm out mountainbiking!

Love the Z4 though but I may have to get something that isn't so mono-use!

We'll see. Makes it harder now I have driven the Evoque! You could have some fun with that!

How did they have that for sale so soon, unless it was a cancelled order I guess!

First orders were out to customers on Friday .. so if it was dealer prepped over the weekend it could be on the market early this week.

Im told the price it went for represented a healthy 10% over RRP... not a bad bit of business is it.

1. put down 1k deposit over 8-9 months ago.
2. pay remainder RRP on Friday on delivery
3. sell it for 4-5k over list on the Monday-tuesday.

Not sure it's that easy, when I've ordered high end (new model) cars in the past I've had to sign to say I won't sell it on for 6 months, and I've just done that with my new car!!

Thats interesting Kryton i was wondering if there was a clause somewhere to stop sand bagging of this type ?

How does that work contractually ? Is that contract with the supplying dealership or the manufacturer ?

There is a MY2012 RR Sport on autotrader (not a new model but there are quite a few styling and mechanical upgrades) and there isn't even a photo of one yet on LR website .

I don't like this car at all, looks like someone (Victoria Beckham) squashed the back !

Residually it will be a hard car to keep up with for the next 24 months......

Perhaps for a little while Nick but supply will soon catch up with demand. Land/Range Rovers are hardly renowned for rock-solid residuals ! As this one is a tarted up and modified Freelander it will probably break down with alarming frequency too.

They have also managed something unique - designed a car that's very nice to look at from three angles and absolutely hideous from the rear !

Like others who posted earlier on this thread I'm not a fan of 4x4's. Unless you live in Scotland i don't get this sell the Zed for a 4x4 argument. Even though we had one of the coldest winters for a generation in England last year we only had snow on the ground for approx 3-4 weeks tops and for 2-3 weeks of that the roads were clear (apart from some estate roads) and my M had no problems at all apart from the first 4-5 days.

Assuming you don't need a bigger car for load-lugging or ferrying kids around, why sell a car which you can enjoy the benefits of for 50 weeks of the year for one which only really comes into its own for 2 weeks and for the rest of the year is big, slow and ugly.

Residual, although not as a GFV is standing at 92% after 2 years.....demand is strong interns of orders placed for at least the next 20 months. Launch cars have had an effect on the residuals, as I believe the amount of launch cars is excessively high, which has impacted on customer orders....

And if I remember correctly when the Sports came out, residuals held fast for the first 2 + years.....

Not sure the Evoque is a "high end car" so I don't know about buying clauses on this type of car :?

In regards to your other question, you have a PM :)

92% residuals..... I've just done the Man Maths on that on a Pure 5 door .... and even taking into account 80% retained it would work out a fairly good value 2nd car .
