Random Alarm Activation ?

Bascially its as the title of this post says, at complete random intervals the alarm will just go off ?. All windows are closed and there is nothing in the car.

It seems to do activate itself at a set time everyday. As i park up (in the same space every morning) i can reach the office door just as the alarm goes off without fail ?.

Any ideas, to both diagnose & repair this as its driving me (and the neighbours) nuts ?

Bonnet sensor for sure, do a quick search and you'll find several instances

It happens & work and home, so im guessign its the sensor rather than interference. I shall do a search and hopefully get it resolved asap...

Bonnet sensor without doubt. I had similar random problems, was sceptical, changed it and never activated in error since.

You can as a test take the switch out and run it a few days to see if that stops it before buying if you can't get to a dealers or Ebay. In case you don't know it's at the rear of the bonnet opening where the strut tower braces meet.

I had to replace the bonnet sensor on the X5, same problem, same symptoms.

seem issues guys i have started to lock the car using the key and it seems fine then ....does the alarm still turn on when this is done ....!
