rain sensor wipers not working

Noticed today that when i press the steering colum switch to turn on the automatic rain sensing wipers they dont react!
I get the light coming on in the button but no wiper action.

Any ideas guys?

Do they do they initial wipe when you press the button? Mine are terrible for deciding when to work, ie, I have to manually intervene all the time. I've heard the sensor (just below the rear view mirror) has to be right flush against the windscreen, even ever so slightly off can throw it.

But that's what I heard, can't say I've tried resolving mine tbf

Yes an initial wipe is standard to clear the sensor and set it up. But not getting the initial wipe either!!
Mine work (worked) very well, no complaints at all.

Yup I get the initial wipe, not heard of not getting it. I sense another warranty direct incoming

I find that they work Shite. Never wipe when you want them too unless it's heavier rain, any fine misty rain and I find I have to keep ficking them myself to get to come on.

The rain sensor needs re-calibration if the screen is changed..not all windscreen replacers perform that task….that may explain some folks frustrations with this system..

Hiya

Thought that might be the case but I don't have a Snap-On tools diagnosic tool - have a Carly and BimmerCode . Before I delve into each one does anyone know if it can be accomplished by either of these two?
