Raid control - Can you activate it without going to a dealer

The manual says this is a feature you need to go to a dealer to get activated but is there a way you can do it yourself?

By Raid control I mean where the central locking activates when you drive off not sure if thats the right BMW terminology!
 
I assume you mean where the doors lock when you hit a certain speed 5mph IIRC.

Only Dealer or specialist with programming can do it.
 
As srhutch says dealer or indy, but just to add It's a key specific option rather than car. So each user can have a different setting.

Can't be done by the user with some strange combination of button pushing and twiddling :)
 
Mine does this already so must have been activated by previous owner. There are a host of other things in the manual that you can have programmed with regards to opening windows, doors, boot etc so I presume you have to get these done at a dealer as well.

Do they charge for this, or if I asked for it to be done when having a service would they just do it?

Yes they charge normaly around £40
