I hope people dont mind me having a moan...

i am changing job and officially finish on the thursday, however i have requested to be allowed to finish today as i have passed over all my work and am now twiddling my thumbs.

i have been told i have to stay till the bitter end. i know they are under no obligation to let me go and are completely within their rights, but it just seems a tough pathetic when i have nothing outstanding and have to sit at my desk for 2 days!

sorry rant over....

might be on here quite a bit over the next 2 days!!! haha!

i thought about that, but they would see right through it and i dont want to burn any bridges or piss anyone off. i just dont really get the logic to be honest. they are getting nothing out of me so whats the point? I guess they dont want to set a precedent perhaps.

You will be amazed on how many last minute requests could come in that they need you for. Seen it many times that the last couple of days are the busiest of your life :)

If you want something to do, you can always go onto Carols thread and wish me happy birthday :poke:

Spend all day on the forum, or I'm sure Lux could give you a link to loads of cat videos you could watch

Its because bosses are c*nts and thrive on making our lives a misery!

(or that might just be my life)....

You could do what someone at work recently did...

3 month notice... Gets a job at a rival/ competitor.. And forced to sit out his notice period.

Sends and email to everyone... Saying "thanks, i am moving to company X, farewell" so nice and polite... Within 30 mins escorted off site and put on 3 months (paid) garden leave!!

You are right - one of my old bosses when I worked at a College was brilliant - I really respected him.

Everyone I've had since moving to the NHS though, they've all been cunts!

You could be proactive and sell the Zed, buy a bike and cycle to your new job, you would be saving the planet and helping the Government :D

Tim.

The competitor option is always a good one. Don't you have any leave left you can take though ?

Glad it's only one more day fella!

Just be thankful you're not one of those high flying exec's that has to do 6 months notice without the option of garden leave! :o :headbang: :headbang:

Now that would be a nightmare scenario!!

Soon be at your new place. :)
