Morning all

Got in the car this morning and realised the screen of the radio damaged. Not sure how this has happened. Everything still works except the display

Any ideas on getting this fixed? Can the screen just be replaced or will it be a whole new unit?

Wouldn't mind DAB radio so would it be possible/cheaper to fit an aftermarket unit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thankyou for any help in advance!

Ouch just been quoted £742 by cooper Malton BMW. Apparently the vehicle requires a full program update to accept the replacement unit.

Any cheaper options???

Ouch! can you live with it? I bet not. Maybe look for some more quotes and find out if it really does need programming.

Have a look at this link, someone changed theirs, cost of LCD unit was about £80, you might glean some useful info from it!

I can live with it in the sense that it still works but everytime I look at it it eats away at me!

Do you get program updates with services normally?

I found someone on Ebay selling the complete unit for about £250 (In the USA) so even with P & P still more then half price than the quote you had.

Yeh I found that also. Contacted cluster repair uk from the post you gave me and they're getting back to me with a quote. Do you think I will need a software update?

I don't know, someone better qualified than me might be able to answer that, all that guy did was to press certain buttons to get it going.

Ok we're getting somewhere.

Cluster repairs uk have quoted me £129 plus vat to fix it.

Much better! Just need to find someone who can remove the radio so I can send it down to them.
