Radio switching on when engine off, help

Hi, our radio is switching itself on when the engine is off and car locked. Immobiliser on. TP off and RDS off. Does anyone know how to fix this please or have had a similar issue? Thanks.

Hi again. Have just read there coud be a software issue with the radio, read on a vauxhall forum, but is replacing the radio a known solution.

Do you own a Vauxhall or a BMW? :|

Does this happen all the time you lock the car. Does it stop after a while.

I'm also guessing you don't have nav as it's not possible to have the radio on without the ignition on.

this is one of the things i dislike about this car. you cant have the radio on without the keys in it. my old t plate focus would allow you to have the radio on for 1 hr at a time. handy for when your washing it

You can if you don't have nav though, don't ask me why the nav one don't allow though. :headbang:

We had auto electrician look at car. No faults came up on computer when tested so software fault suspected. Going to see if will work once radio software is reprogrammed. Fingers crossed.

Hi. I have a similar problem with my Z4. 2003 3.0i.

The amp on my car was broken when i bought it. I was fiddling with the radio and then it wouldn't turn off (even with the engine off). It was intermittent and finally stopped. I think the radio didn't like being in CD mode without a CD, but was fine when i switched it back.

Some things i saw while i was browsing the forum try to fix mine.
1. Disconnect the battery for ~1 hour. It could reset a fault with something else.
2. Check amp. Water leaks into the boot/trunk and it goes straight into the pocket with the amp and battery.
3. You can also try to remove the radio and check the connectors. Sometimes the pins in the connectors are not so good and the can come loose.

I don't know the exact details how how to do these. New to the forum and with my car. Good Luck tho
