Radio Question.

Hi.
With the Z4 2ltr 2015 comes the business radio. Does this set pick up DAB or if not can it be modified to do so? I also don't find it easy to pre-programme the stations to the FM or AM bands, I'm missing the cars handbook which would probably have this info in there!

I thought all the later cars have DAB, and you can use any of the 8 buttons, to program a station to, or program anything you like to

A Business radio in a 2015????? :o Are you sure? Does it actually say Business on the radio?
If it is then I'd suggest ripping it out and, if you want the OEM look, then retrofit a Professional head unit with DAB built in.

If yours does say Professional on the front of it then press the Audio button and see what comes up, if it says DAB then you already have it. If not then you could retro-fit a DAB unit or you could install an add-on like the AutoDAB unit that integrates into the car and you use the steering wheel control to operate it (and displays the info on the screen).

To help you out in recognising the head units, photos of each as attached.

If all else fails, and as I've mentioned above, the AutoDAB...

WOW Dave that's good of you to provide photo's.

Just popped up the garage to check and its the Professional model but I cant see DAB anywhere? So I suppose my options are to change the set or get one of those adaptors.

OK, this took a lot of finding (as I don't have DAB on mine)......

Press "AUDIO" button (top left) and it'll display this screen, either with DAB or without..

Can you retrofit an newer professional stereo into a 2010 car? My professional radio is far from it and has nothing going for it

You can, but two quick questions first;
Do you have bluetooth?
Do you have a USB socket (with an AUX port next to it) in the centre console?

If you answer no to both of those then yes it's possible and relatively straight forward.
It should cost you in the region of £350, and you'll need to do a bit of coding with a laptop.
Alas I'm on my tablet at the moment but I'll post a link for you with all the info you need if you're interested.

OK then here you go the full parts list and install instructions including the coding required...

Some (possible most) of the links for eBay may no longer work, but that is why I've included photos for refference.
Hope that helps.

Amazing work. Thanks is very much. Will just have to see how brave I'm going to be but usb, Bluetooth and dab seem like a worthwhile investment

It's all there except any info on DAB.......
For the DAB side it all is the same just the addition of a DAB screen antenna. Go for a quality one, you could try the OEM route here, but personally it's not worth it, just stick one to the inside of the windscreen.
Now finding a DAB head unit my be a little more difficult to find though, but there is one on eBay at the moment.

Here you go the only DAB head unit on eBay....
