Radio CODE and best Aux adaptor?

Hello my friends!

Got my Z4 a few days ago! :driving:

I'd like to pop the radio out to put an Aux adaptor. Before I do that, is there a CODE for this radio (anti-theft stuff)?
Unfortunately, it came with no manual and no code!

Any suggestions for Aux adaptors are highly appreciated.

Also, the CD doesn't eject :headbang: and I will try to fix it. If I succeed, I'll post a video here of how to fix it!

Thanks and take care!

I hooked up an Aux jack last month. After searching Amazon etc and found it best to go OEM. The price was very competitive from the dealer. No code required. Pulled the radio out and plugged it in. Simple as that!
Good luck!

As above, no code required on my install and none that Im aware of, fruity car cables are where I got my cable and working fine 3 years on

Thank you my friends!
Not having the code is quite a relief. I have to replace the ignition switch, so now I know I can unplug the battery.
As soon as I install the aux port, I will let you guys know how it went!

My friends,

I never disconnected the radio from the harness haha. Just plugged the aux cable in the back.
The cable is this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015F5ZWMA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
CHEAP! Works fine, but the bass is lacking. Little research and it appears to be a problem with all BMW Aux cables, is that right?
I'm going to investigate some more, perhaps redo the cable myself, using only the connector.

I would go to a dealer. Most eBay cables use Dupont connectors which isn't correct and will result in a loose connection. I had to rewire mine will the correct type, sounded a lot better after that.

Guys, just a heads up.

I pulled my cable out and it has 220nF capacitors in series. BMW spec'd at 330nF. Either way, you WILL LOSE BASS even with the original OEM cable! :!: So no, absolutely it's not worth paying for the OE cable.

What you need to do, is to buy the cheap $7.99 cable from Amazon and replace those silly capacitors with 4.7uF capacitors instead. The cable from the link is the easiest to work on, as when you open the little plastic housing, there's a small circuit board with SMD 0805 capacitors. These are small, but not too small, very easy to swap it out. You can buy the 4.7uF capacitors from Mouser or Digikey, they cost peanuts. With this mod, you will have FULL bass, more than the OE cable.
