Hi all,
So I managed to figure out the reason my radiator fan wasn’t working was due to the fairly common corroded green wire issue.
I tried and failed to remove the wire/connector from the socket, and then reverted to cutting out the corroded part of the wire (only around 1-2cm). In the end I managed to use a solder seal connector in an attempt to connect the two parts of the wire.
Good news, I turned the engine on, turned the air con on, and the fan now works! Happy days!
BUT I noticed it wasn’t running continuously, it would run for a few seconds, then slow and turn off… then turn itself back on again - etc etc.
I haven’t had a chance to take it for a proper run yet (will try to find some non flooded roads tomorrow!!) - but wanted to check with others if it’s normal for the fan to modulate on/off like that when a/c is on. I was expecting it to run continuously but maybe it’s a little smarter than that?
Cheers for any wisdom!
