As some of you may have seen Ive been building a Mini Cooper S for a new race series starting next year within 750motor club.
Throughout the winter both me and the series organiser have carried out lots of testing with various tyres/brakes/suspension and set ups.

The regs are now almost complete. The cars are now very well paced and have carried out a few customer passenger laps with fantastic reactions

Now where you come in !

Car No2 has now been built and will be raced by me, Im now building another car that will be rented out per race weekend as arrive and drive. Arrive and drive is a great way to get into racing and tryout a car before commitment to build or have one built.

If anyone is genuinely interested please get in touch..

We also have a BMW Compact cup car ready for arrive and drive for 2015

If n e one is thinking about this do it! I said I was gonna give it a pop for 1 season!

Now I'm itching to start my 3rd :-) I'm not personally in the above championships (Kumho BMW championship) but club racing is a great step up from track days and great fun.

And an obligitry pic:

It was Mmm-five's post on my 'track day toy' thread that set me going on the racing idea.

It just makes sence, I think tracking a <£1000 E36 was more fun than my Z4, cuz I was super paranoid about damaging my Z and when I went to the ring I proved how timid I was with a 11:40 lap time!

Where as gravel rash & cone scrapes on a old 328 doesn't bother me!

Unless u r minted then this is for sake:

Not to change the subject but having looked into racing and now completed 4 seasons in Caterham’s. I can highly recommended Caterham Graduates.
Great bunch of people and amazing organisation. Cars are a bit more expensive to buy. But running cost are less, its RWD and it’s the biggest racing club in England with the closet racing.
All the cost information on the website.

But I had to sell my race car to buy a flat in London  :(

Race fees about 3.5-4 grand
Memberships to BARC & BMWRDC & licence about £300-£350
Petrol 45litres ish a weekend baised on 2.8
Set of discs an pads a season
1.5 - 2 sets of tyres a season @ &700 ish a set
Then getting to an from the circuits & your choice of acomidation varying from tent - campervan - hotel
Any repairs u suffer

The bit I like about a 328 E36 a spare engine is £250 and the cars withstand a bit of rubbing and if u get to keen panels are 10-20 quid from a breakers. And we r not that much slower than the 3.0 M3s

With regards to sponsorship depends if u got friendly mates / family with businesses! I've only managed a couple of hundred a season. I know people that have got a grand for a season some maybe even more!
