I'm sure the front splitter and rear wing make a huge difference to lateral grip. The OEM Z4 Coupe shape is, in essence, a conventional aerofoil shape which does create aerodynamic lift, whereas, the large wing in a high position, as on your car, makes the aerodynamic profile into an inverted wing, which will create down force. You only have to see a how all the space under the rear wing on a DTM car instantly fills with a massive amount of dust when those cars go off-line, to get a visual idea of the aero profile.

Hi exdos, We will soon see if I can feel any difference without the aero. The car originally ran like that in GT4 remember. The DTM cars are all aero designed, as in all round and low, so they benefit more. My car hasn't got big diffusers and dive planes to help with the overall package, unlike the Z4 GTR. Maybe I need that bodykit?.... although there is more to it than first appears, but it does look good.

Do you do any onboard datalogging that would show the difference in performance with and without the aero parts? I'd be interested to see the results if you do. :thumbsup:

You've got the 2 essentials of an aero package with the front splitter/airdam and the large high-level wing. The addition of side skirts below the cills and a diffuser would definitely help. Do you have any photos of the car in action in the wet which would show the spray pattern around/behind the car?
 
Hi Exdos, This car is for fun at track days, and we have been blessed with good weather so far, apart from being fogged off once! I do have a set of wets, which again would be interesting to feel how they perform. As for photos, hopefully we will get some good ones soon, as we are so busy at the track we tend to forget about it. We like to keep the car moving as much as possible without getting too hot, us or the car. We have 3 to 4 different drivers and rotate driving through the day. Hopefully you might turn up at one of our track days and take some photos for us, or join us on track in your car and any others hopefully? I don't really have time for analysing data at this level of track use, even if we had the sensors. I know when I am driving OK ish, or not!
